Lake Effect Market is a community market project being developed in downtown Bedford, Ohio. We are creating a place where natural food, local makers, art, learning, and community connection come together under one roof.
Lake Effect Market will bring together natural foods, fresh produce, bulk foods, local and regional products, artists, makers, vendors, and community programming inside a historic downtown building.
Our goal is to create more than a store. We are building a welcoming community destination that supports healthy food access, local producers, creative enterprise, and practical learning.
Lake Effect Market is currently in development. We are preparing the building, recruiting vendors, building our founder base, connecting with artists and partners, and shaping the systems needed to open responsibly. We are not fully open to the public yet, but we are actively building toward launch.

Lake Effect Market is being incubated with support from the Lake Erie Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. LEI supports the charitable, educational, community development, and public programming work connected with the project.
As the market develops, Lake Effect Market is expected to grow into its own community-centered market or cooperative structure while remaining closely aligned with LEI’s broader mission.
This project is being shaped with help from founders, vendors, artists, community members, local organizations, and partners who believe Bedford and the surrounding region deserve more places where food, creativity, learning, and local connection can thrive.
